Calves of the Stall
Something that I read in the scriptures this week really stood out and I wanted to share it along with some pictures to bring a little understanding in on why it touched me so deeply.
The scripture was in The Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ, in 1 Nephi 22:24 In this particular chapter the author is Nephi and he is speaking of the 2nd coming when Christ will come again. He is quoting a lot of Isaiah from the Old Testament in The Bible. The verse reads, "And the time cometh speedily that the righteous must be led up as calves of the stall, and the Holy One of Israel must reign in dominion, and might, and power, and great glory." As I thought about this it really hit home because as some of you may or may not know we have some cattle. Some years our children have brought calves into the barn or stall in order to prepare them for sale at the local county fairs. The cattle in the field are left to fend for themselves, eating whatever grass they can find and are left out in the rain and elements. The calves that are brought into the stall are fed the best quality grain and hay, have fresh clean water and are washed, brushed, hugged and loved. To think that this is the way the righteous will be cared for at the 2nd coming is so comforting.
Here are some pictures to give you a visual.

| This is a field calf and about as close as Abby was able to get to one. I imagine the Savior being able to lead the righteous with ease to the stall because they will know him. |
